A Vegan Balcony Garden In The Making
After decades of bustling mornings and late nights at the office, I found myself navigating a new chapter of my life—one defined by tranquility and the promise of fresh beginnings. Having recently retired and downsized to a cozy townhome, the rhythmic hum of city life now seemed a world away. The new place came with a modest balcony, bathed in sunlight, which sparked an idea that had lingered in my mind for years: a vegan balcony garden.
With enthusiasm bubbling inside me, I spent hours sketching my vision. I envisioned vibrant herbs, leafy greens, and colorful vegetables cascading from pots, each one a testament to my newfound freedom. The thought of nourishing myself from my own little patch of earth filled me with a sense of purpose.
Gathering Seeds For Planting.
My first trip to the local garden center was exhilarating. Surrounded by fragrant herbs and blooming flowers, I felt like a kid in a candy store. I filled my cart with basil, cilantro, and mint, imagining the fresh pesto and fragrant curries I would soon whip up. Next were the tomatoes, peppers, and zucchini—each seedling a promise of delicious meals to come.
I Conclude For Now
In my upcoming posts, I will share my gradual process of transforming my balcony into a green paradise. Expanding more on how I will spend my mornings tending to my plants, and nurturing them. The rhythmic sound of watering, the soft rustle of leaves in the breeze, and the warm sun on my skin will become my daily rituals. As I dig my fingers into the soil, I think I will feel grounded and connected to this vegan way of life that I will be carving out for myself from my beautiful balcony.
